  • The program was implemented by Hammurabi Organization in cooperation with the Chaldean Mercy Association and funded by Christian Solidarity International.

On December 3, 2023, Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, and in coordination and cooperation with the Chaldean Mercy Association, launched a relief program involving widows, and the transportation fees of poor students from their residency towards the educational institutions.

The relief program also included depositing a sum of money to disburse therapeutic prescriptions to patients of poor families and contribute to perform some surgeries for them. The project benefits twenty widows to offer assistance over a period of five months and have been selected among the poorest and most needy widows in BasraŁˆ while relief care for students included ten poor students, both male and female, to cover the transportation expenses between their residences and the educational institutions for the academic year 2023-2024.

As for the free disbursement of prescriptions, it includes patients who do not have the financial ability to disburse prescriptions prepared by doctors, or their financial potential does not allow for some surgery.

It is known that Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, with the support of Christian Solidarity International (CSI), is implementing such projects in some areas of Iraq.

Talking to the representative of the Nergal News Network,  peoples from Basra said that the relief program carried out by Hammurabi Human Rights Organization reflects the extent  of humanitarian and national interest of the poor and needy people of various social affiliations and segments.
