Hammurabi Human Rights Organization started a campaign of sterilization of places of worships, service and social departments in Hamdaniya district - Nineveh Plain. Supported by Christian Solidarity International CSI.

The campaign launched on Sunday morning, 22, November 2020 by organization cadres, in cooperation with the support committee team in Hamdaniya district.

The sterilization campaign included places of worships, churches, monasteries, mosques, and Hussainiyyas located within the geographical area of Hamdaniya district, in addition to service and educational departments and halls of social events.

Mr. Louis Marqous Ayoub, Vice President of Hammurabi Organization, the project manager,  explained that the campaign aim in reducing the increasing number of infections with the decrease in temperatures and to limit the spread of virus in Hamdaniya district due to non-compliance with the instructions of the World Health Organization and the National Crisis Cell.

The project coordinator, Mr. Bassam Habib Shito indicated that all places of worship will be included in the campaign, and that the places that were sterilized today are both (The Church of Marbhnam and his sister Sarah the martyrs, the Church of Rajaa and the Church of the Old Tahera) in the center of Hamdaniya.
