Mrs. Pascale Warda, Chairwoman of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, and Mr. William Warda, Director of Public Relations in the organization, accepted the invitation of the French Ambassador to Iraq, to attend the ceremony held by the Embassy on 14 July in Baghdad on the occasion of the French National Day, the invitation included number of Iraqi elites, politicians, jurists, opinion leaders, civil organizations, artists, community leaders and Mr. Mohammed Bahr Al-Uloum, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq.

His Excellency the French Ambassador Mr Eric Chevalier delivered a speech on the occasion, in which he raised more appreciation for the close relations between Iraq and France in areas of progress, stressing his country's readiness to support the Iraqis in all areas of economic, scientific, cultural and artistic progress, and stopped at number of projects that his country contributed to supporting Iraq in confronting security and economic dilemmas.

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed Iraq's keenness on the importance of cooperation with France in all fields in order to enhance joint cooperation in a way that guarantees the common interests of the two countries.

Mr. Bahr Al-Uloum extended his thanks and gratitude to His Excellency the French Ambassador for his efforts in appreciating the relations between the two countries , stressing the keenness of the French government to participate in supporting the projects that the Iraqi government seeks to achieve in the areas of development, energy, reconstruction and establishment of applied scientific companies. The ceremony also included musical, lyrical and artistic performances by Iraqi artists that reflected the original Iraqi artistic heritage.

on the sidelines of the occasion, Mrs. Pascale and Mr. William deliberations touched upon various issues of concern to Iraq, working to enhance its security, protect its cultural diversity, preserve its identities, and aspire in the spirit of national responsibility to build a democratic development that preserves freedoms.
