A training workshop on human rights was launched in Basra on Sunday, 3/12/2023, in a period of five days ,  four hours per day and with five titles.

The objective of the workshop was to train male and female teachers on the principles of human rights, most notably the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the rights of persons with disabilities, the rights of minorities, the rights of women and the rights of children within the project of comprehensive of the right implemented by the Hammurabi Organization, under the leadership of John Paul II Foundation (FGPII), and with the support of the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development.

Mr. William Warda the project manager opened the workshop with a speech pointing out to the importance of this project to protect human and social rights and preserve Iraqi population identities in a way that preserves the dignity of the Iraqi human being.

Mrs. Pascale Warda, head of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization and Ambassador of Peace, lectured on three titles, namely the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the rights of women and the rights of children, while Mr. William Warda continued to address the other two rights, the rights of people with disabilities and the rights of minorities.

The workshop adopted deliberative dialogue methods to deepen knowledge. The representative of the Nergal News Network asked, Mr. Warda, about the indirect objectives of the workshop. he replied:

“We hope to provide educational sector with these rights and to transform into an educational material in schools so that students will acquire knowledge that will strengthen their awareness and their human rights stance which must be reflected positively on the Iraqi society.

This establishes a national structural approach to peacebuilding and promotes the values of solidarity and coexistence among all components of the Iraqi population.

Participants of the workshop were 22 teachers from the Dominican sisters "Altakdema" Kindergarten and Nersery in Basra.
