
The Hammurabi Human Rights Organization -Erbil branch organized a bazaar for girls and women who received training and workshops on the art of wax and making accessories. During this year, the organization held several workshops to empower women and qualify them to reach work and enhance their skills in improving their income through self-employment from home and developing their livelihoods. Dozens of women participated in the most recent of which was the training workshop for teaching the art of making candles and accessories, organized by the Erbil branch of the organization in cooperation with the Nineveh Rising Org, where fourteen girls and women attended for five days for the period May 10-14, 2025.
The bazaar which took place on June 5, 2025, at the headquarters of Hammurabi Organization in Ankawa. as girls and women displayed their works and creativity,
His Excellency Ano Jawhar Minister of Transport and Communication in the Kurdistan Region was attended in the bazaar as well as Mr. Jalal Habib, Director of the Academic Center in Ankawa, Mr. Rafiq Hanna, Media Officer of the Center, Dr. Ramzi Al-Barwari, Chairman of the Hadiab Association, Mrs. Katie Youssef, representative of the Ashtar Organization for Women and Children, and Mrs. Faiza Diab, representative of the Sabean-Mandaean Association in Erbil. It was also attended by a group of activists, media professionals, and journalists.
In his brief speech delivered on the occasion his Excellency Minister Johar praised the work of the Hammurabi Organization and its branch in Erbil in raising the capabilities of women and youth providing support and encouragement to the girls and women who participated in the bazaar.
For her part Mrs. Taghrid Adris, head of the Hammurabi Organization Erbil branch, presented a bouquet of roses to His Excellency in welcome and gratitude for his participation and encouragement in this event and his support for the activity.
