Mr. William Warda, Public Relations Officer of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, said that the majority of the parliamentary electoral lists for the elections on 12th May 2018 will be national and keep them away from the sectarian or regional confinement is mainly due to the pressure of Iraqi public opinion which is in its absolute majority national and non-sectarian.

In an interview in Syriac language to SBS radio broadcast from Australia Mr. Warda added that the sectarian political parties are convinced that the sectarian paper is no longer suitable for investment and that the majority of the Iraqis are patriots, so these parties and components were forced to this positive transformation under the dictates of Iraqi public opinion if true expression, riding the anti-fashion and sectarian trends and tendencies.

In response to another question about the trend of family inheritance in the political reality, this is in fact a Middle Eastern phenomenon with a well-known roots related to the insistence of those families to be in the forefront and have the ability to dominate and benefit from this presence economically and fair if not less authoritarian. However, the Iraqi Christians, who are considered to be more civilized, have become more religious, and there are Assyrian and Syriac lists and others that repeat themselves more than three or four times in the race of parliamentary seats.

Regarding the violation of some of the electoral lists to the laws and considerations of electoral propaganda before the date set by the Electoral Commission on 10/4/2018, he said that this represents a violation of law and illegal anticipation of propaganda mechanism, but in general the Electoral Commission can not address this phenomenon, despite its presence because it will clash with large political blocks, as well as most of the staff within the Commission are in fact not independent in the strict sense of political independence.

In his speech Mr. Warda pointed out at the electoral lists of the Christian component. He said that these faces are repeated and that the lists representing Christian political organizations have more chances than the other Christian candidates. However, but in general none of these lists can obtain the entire quota of five deputies. The Christian parliamentary faces are repeating themselves, pointing out that the phenomenon is caused by the tendency of acquisition, domination and hegemony, which operates under the well-known view that political action is a booty and an opportunity for enrichment, and has become a very profitable business.

On the subject of salaries of employees in Kurdistan Region, Mr. Warda stressed that this issue is now over after the agreement of the Prime Minister Dr. Haider Abadi, to send all salaries within administrative and financial mechanism to prevent forgery. On the whole the issue of salaries has now ended as a game of bargaining and extortion, and signs of detente are moving forward after the opening of airports in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah in front of international air traffic.
