  • Mr. William Warda managed the activities of the ceremony, rotating with a number of officials from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and a member of the Ninewah Provincial Council.

 The second day of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization's Program in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has seen a celebration on the occasion of International Women's and Mother's Day in coincidence with Nawrouz festivals on 21st March.

The celebration was held in cooperation and coordination with the Board of Social Protection, Women's Welfare Department in the Ministry and the Association Of Tomorrow for the Welfare of Women and Children. The events launched on the hall of Teachers Union in the center of Mosul managed by Mr. William Warda, Public Relations Officer at Hammurabi Human Rights Organization.

Mr. Warda  welcomed the  attendees rotating the speech and interventions with Mr. Asghar Abdul Razzaq Al Moussawi  Chairman of the Board for Disability and special needs care, Sadik Khazal Ibrahim, Acting Director General of the Vocational Training Department, Ahmed Mohammed Mahmoud, Acting Assistant Director of Social Protection Department for Women, in the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs, ,Mrs. Rajaa Ali Hemoud from the same department, Mrs. Hiyam Abdullah member of the Council of Ninewah province, delivered a speech on this occasion. The celebration was attended by number participants.

The speakers focused on the importance of women to build the society and the pioneering role in establishing a social, political, economic and cultural developed life in case of well cared and granting rights to free them from the great injustice they have suffered over long periods of time.

The talk revealed that women, despite suffering from injustices and violations, did not restrain, but continued to struggle with more sacrifices to prove positive and honorable presence beside men in the establishment of many aspects of safe life in maintaining the sanctity of family and childcare and to participate men in economic, scientific and cultural activities.

Speakers also recalled the sufferings of women from the terrorist groups of ISIS and the family violence and the retreat in education, health services and employment opportunities, while a member of the Council of Ninewah province, focused on women's demands after liberation and appealed to all concerned people to care right  of divorced women and widows, as well as women who do not have economic resources and have serious responsibilities in the management of their families affairs .

The members of the Nineveh Provincial Council focused on women's demands in the province after liberation and called on all those concerned to take care of women's rights to pay due attention to the rights of women and to protect women's rights. Divorced women and widows, as well as women who have no economic resources and who have serious responsibilities in the management of their affairs and the affairs of their families.

On the sidelines of the celebration, participants got acquainted to a number of demands submitted by women to sponsor their rights. Officials of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs delegation alternated with the questions and queries raised. They also received requests from some women to follow-up within the ministry in Baghdad in cooperation and coordination with Women's Welfare Departments in Ninewah province.

The joint delegation from the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs took part in a free tour in Mosul, during which they inspected many of the landmarks of this ancient city.
