Hammurabi Organization distributes food baskets to 75 displaced families in Erbil with the support of charitable donors

On February 6, 2026, and as part of its humanitarian efforts to support the most vulnerable groups, Hammurabi Human Rights Organization – Erbil Branch distributed food supplies to 75 displaced families living below the poverty line , with the support of charitable donors. This move reflects the spirit of community solidarity and commitment to assist those in need.

The initiative included preparing complete food baskets to meet the basic needs of the beneficiary families.

The head of Erbil Branch Mrs. Taghreed Idris, Board Member Ms. Nadia Butti, and Assistant Branch Director Mr. Mazen Farouk, along with several other members of the organization, participated in packing and preparing the food supplies, contributing their voluntary efforts to ensure the efficient and organized distribution process.

The food baskets were distributed at the organization's office in Erbil, in an atmosphere of cooperation and humanitarian responsibility. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for this initiative, which helped alleviate some of the burdens they face amidst the difficult life conditions.

Each food basket included a set of basic items that met the daily nutritional needs of the families, including pasta, vermicelli, bulgur, grits, rice, oil, stock cubes, canned milk, canned fish, meat, and tea, providing comprehensive nutritional support that contributes to enhancing the food security of the beneficiary.

This initiative comes within a series of humanitarian activities implemented by Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, confirming its commitment to supporting displaced and vulnerable families and promoting the values ​​of social solidarity, which contributes to improving the living conditions of the most needy groups.

For its part, Hammurabi Human Rights Organization express gratitude and thanks to the donors, mentioning that the contributions had a positive impact on the families benefiting from this support.

Ms. Taghred Idris says, "Without these donations, we would not have been able to help these marginalized and vulnerable groups. We call on all the wealthy, businessmen, and generous people to undertake such humanitarian initiatives, especially since we are going through the period of the Great Fasting and the holy month of Ramadan. The organization has the ability to reach wide groups of needy people in various governorates and regions of Iraq, who contact the organization to extend aid to them.”
