As part of the project to promote the rights of Iraqi minorities, the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, in cooperation with the Alliance of Iraqi Minorities Network and with support of the Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) held a discussion session to present an overview of a comprehensive study entitled "Minorities Perspectives on Violations Against Properties and Villages in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq".
The session took place on Sunday, December 7, 2025 and was attended by a number of official figures from the Kurdistan Regional Government, along with civil society activists, representatives from relevant authorities concerned with the violations file in the region and Baghdad, and stakeholders from the affected minority communities.
The session was opened by Mr. William Warda, co-founder and director of public relations at the Hammurabi Organization and supervisor of the preparation of the study, where he presented a summary of its main themes concerning violations against Christian properties and lands in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, pointing out the importance of documenting these violations and developing practical proposals to address them.
The discussion session reviewed the conclusions and recommendations, examining them from various legal, administrative, and social perspectives. Participants also came out with a set of proposals that could form a roadmap for addressing these violations and ensuring the future of peaceful coexistence among the region's diverse communities.
At the end of the session, the organization affirmed its commitment to continuing efforts aimed at promoting the rights of minorities and protecting their property within the framework of justice and equal citizenship in Iraq.
