Mr. William Warda Public Relations Officer of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization (HHRO), met a team from Chemonic International organization.

The meeting was held in Erbil on 24/6/2018 including Mr. Aramis Penland, Deputy Executive Director of the Organization and Mrs. Elizabeth Woford, Director of Eurasian affairs in the Organization.

In this respect the activities and events of the two organizations was reviewed and competencies in the provision of services and assistance to vulnerable groups.

Mr. Aramis provided an overview of Chemonic International organization and the areas for joint cooperation.

It was agreed to proceed the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding between the two organizations and cooperation in the implementation of joint projects in line with the terms of reference and objectives of the work.

The international organization has been briefed on the overall activities of HHRO and its international partners; understanding was reached to support the continuation of training project by Hammurabi for teaching staff in Nineveh, after more than two years and the urgent need for its continuation.

Hammurabi also asked Chemonic International the need to work with partner organizations of the Alliance of Iraqi minorities and the active minority organizations in Nineveh Plain to work with partners from Iraqi minority coalition organizations and minority organizations in Nineveh, Sinjar and others in order to provide broader services and greater efficiency in the development of minority areas. Hammurabi proposed number of organizations to expand cooperation and achieve positive impact.

It is to be mentioned that Chemonic International is an executive partner of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and operates in more than 100 countries around the world.
