
Mrs. Pascale Warda, Chairwoman of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization and Mr. William Warda, Director of Public Relations and Media, participated in the event organized by the Board of Directors of Al-Hindiya club to open the free membership registration for Christian families in Baghdad.
The event which was held on Friday March 21st ,2025 was to meet the invitation of His Holiness the Pop of the Vatican to reunion Christian families in Baghdad.
This initiative of the club administration is to support the Christian presence in Iraq as well as strengthening social relations between Christian families in Baghdad.
The event began with the Iraqi national anthem, followed by a welcoming speech by Dr. Thanaa Hikmat Nasser, discussing the history of the club its role in strengthening community cohesion and its commitment to spreading a spirit of harmony, love, and peace among the people of Baghdad. In her speech, she praised the efforts made to revive the club activities and acknowledged the role of religion in contributing to the continuation of this club, whose history spans decades since its founding in 1949.
Then recitation of poems and musical pieces were presented, bringing pleasure and joy to the audience that had gathered from most regions of Baghdad.
The attendance were number of political and military figures, the Baghdad Operations Command, civil society organizations, number of media professionals, artists, representatives of television channels and various media outlets.
The program also included honoring supporters and initiators who contributed to the club's success and strengthened its role in society. At the end of the ceremony, the membership cards were distributed to the new members.
It is to be mentioned that Al-Hindiya Social Club is located in the center of Baghdad, in the district of Karrada, and is distinguished by its efforts and initiatives in strengthening the foundations of social solidarity and building peace and love among all Iraqis.
