The harsh winter cold in Dohuk forces the cadres of the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization to work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of children in need of support

Coinciding with the joy and hope that accompanies the celebrations of the glorious Christmas and New Year, and as part of its ongoing humanitarian mission to support the most needy groups, the office of the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization in Dohuk, with generous support of the Christian Solidarity International (CSI) implemented a humanitarian initiative to distribute winter clothing (gums) to a number of needy students and orphans in a number of districts and villages affiliated with Dohuk Governorate.

This initiative came from the organization's deep belief in the importance of standing by children and impoverished families, especially during this time of year, reflecting profound humanitarian and spiritual significance enhancing the values ​​of love and social solidarity and contributes to alleviating the living burdens on the needy families.

On December 23, 2025 midday ,the staff of the Hammurabi Organization in Dohuk, represented by Engineer Ayad Yaqoub and Mr. Azzam Ayad, headed to the village of Shioz.

The team distributed (24)  winter coats to both male and female  students of the Seiji School for Syriac Studies, amid an atmosphere full of joy and gratitude, during which the students and the school administration expressed their happiness with this initiative that brought joy to the children.

As part of completing the distribution program, the staff headed at 5:30 pm to the complex of Jambour, where (30) gums were distributed to male and female students and a number of needy people in the aforementioned complex, in a humanitarian step aimed at supporting this segment and emphasizing that the message of solidarity is not limited to one place, but rather includes all needy people wherever they are.

In a humanitarian gesture that expressed interest in orphans and the organization's keenness to bring joy , and to continue the humanitarian activity the team headed to the district of Alqoush at  7.0 Pm of the same day, where winter clothes were distributed to (8) orphans in the Saint Joseph Orphanage,

After that, the staff went to the Monastery in Alqosh, where (10 ) gums  were distributed to the orphans residing in this blessed monastery, amidst welcome and appreciation from those in charge of.

The families of the students and orphans, as well as the officials and administrators of the schools and institutions included in the distribution, expressed their thanks and gratitude for this humanitarian initiative, praising the role played by the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization in supporting vulnerable groups and spreading the values of love, peace and coexistence.

The Hammurabi Human Rights Organization affirms its continued implementation of such humanitarian initiatives, its constant endeavor to provide the basic needs of those in need, and its work to strengthen the spirit of social solidarity, out of its belief in the human right to live in dignity.
